Solo Travellers with Horizons Cruise and Travel, your Solo travel experts.
Solo travel is exciting, relaxing and rewarding even when travelling alone. Today it has become the norm rather than the exception to travel as a solo or single.
We partner with professional and leading land tour operators and ocean and river cruise lines, who are increasingly providing great solo and single deals and fares.
Price and value for money is extremely important! Many of our partners offer low or no solo and single supplements fares.
A number of small group Land Tour operators minimise the solo and single supplements by only charging hotel supplements and not for any transportation, meals or sightseeing. Ocean and River Cruise are offering dedicated solos and single cabins at reduced tariffs. Also many are promoting year round
reductions or no supplements at all!
Ocean and River Cruise lines do have solo and singles activities and services available. Meet your fellow solo travellers cocktail party, shore excursions and activities.

Solo Travel tips
Arrive in daylight hours!
Try to ensure that you arrive at your next destination during daylight hours.
When you have to find your way from the airport or bus/train station to your accommodation it is much less nerve-racking to do this during the day when you can see where you are going and there are lots of people around/shops open to ask for directions. Once you get to your accommodation you then still have some time up your sleeve to get your bearings, have a look around and plan where you will start exploring
the next day or have dinner that evening.
What are your packing essentials for a trip?
It’s important to only pack what you can comfortably carry on your own, whether it’s just in and out of a taxi or down a cobblestone street and up a five-floor walk-up.
How to let family and friends know where you are?
You can upload all your itinerary info on an App like Tripit and share it with family and friends so they’ll know where you’ll be every step of the way.
Is cheap accommodation worth the risk?
No! All travellers, not just a Solo traveller, need to be aware of their surrounds when travelling. We will only recommend and book hotels that we know and trust.
We use recognised hotel brands. Some inexpensive hotels are often in areas you wouldn’t want to be seen in.
Our tip is: Don’t risk it.
